The Office of Information Technology empowers and supports Ҵý School of Medicine’s teaching, learning, research, clinical and community engagement mission. We are committed to providing best-in-class technology solutions to enable faculty, students and staff pursuit of the creation and advancement of health equity.

Meet the CIO

Reginald Brinson

Ҵý School of Medicine recently named Reginald Brinson as the school's new chief information officer. Brinson comes to Ҵý from the University of North Florida where he served as associate vice president and chief information officer for the past two years. He held a similar position at Clark Atlanta University from 2009 to 2015.

"Mr. Brinson is an accomplished information technology executive," said Valerie Montgomery Rice, M.D., president and dean of Ҵý School of Medicine.  "We know his many years of IT experience – along with his commitment to high-quality service – will make him an invaluable partner and leader in our organization."

Brinson comes to Ҵý with more than 25 years of progressive leadership experience at Fortune 500 companies including Home Depot, Delta Airlines, and Bank of America. He holds an executive MBA from Columbia University and an undergraduate degree from Hampton University. He is current pursuing his doctoral degree at the University of North Florida.


Clinical IT

Clinical IT is a functional unit within the Department of Information Technology that provides oversight of automated and interoperable clinical application that facilitate optimal patient care and improve medical outcomes.

Customer Services

Customer Services is a functional unit within the Department of Information Technology that provides Audiovisual, Desktop and Help Desk (Tech Bar) support for faculty, students and staff. The technical support services catalog includes software installation, user provisioning, incident reporting, laptop and desktop configurations and technical support for classroom technology.  

Enterprise Systems

Enterprise Systems is responsible for the implementation, support and development of numerous applications and tools used by the administrative departments.  The department works to ensure the IT tools the school's needs to meet its missions and goals are operational and functioning.

Information Security

Information Security is a functional unit within the Department of Information Technology that protects the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the Institutions data and information systems by providing proactive security expertise, creating and maintaining a resilient and secure infrastructure and fostering a culture of security awareness.

Infrastructure Services

The Information Technology Infrastructure department is responsible for provisioning, managing, and maintaining Ҵý's core technology infrastructure and services. The department strives to manage and enhance enterprise infrastructure and services in support of the school's strategic, tactical, and operational goals.

Office of Project Management

The Office of Project Management is a functional unit within the Department of Information Technology that supports the strategic and tactical components of the institution by executing initiatives utilizing project management methodologies that enable the organization to implement within estimates and expectations while delivering quality products.
